Udyana Mandala Retreat Hermitage and Farm
Quinta Udyana is a Buddhist retreat hermitage and small farm located in Portugal, in the region of Portalegre and Castelo de Vide. It serves as the primary seat of the Udyana Mandala community. It is a simple place—a space for spiritual cultivation and retreat where a natural way of living in harmony with the land and the development of the spiritual path embrace one another. This integrative approach expresses the essence of the Buddhist path, blending contemplative life with the rhythms of nature.
At present, there are no formally organized events or public activities at Quinta Udyana. As a private retreat hermitage, we are not generally open to the public. However, if you have a sincere interest in learning about Buddhism and our specific tradition, or wish to make contact, a visit may be possible if circumstances allow.
If you would like to visit, please send us a message via the contact form. We will review your request and provide further information where possible. Please understand that the hermitage is frequently closed for silent retreat, and we may not always be able to receive visitors. Currently, the space is primarily dedicated to the practitioners and students who are part of the Udyana Mandala.
