Ajanatha is a practitioner and teacher within the tradition of Dzogchen Atiyoga and Vajrayana Buddhism with nearly thirty years' experience. Having followed a traditional form of spiritual training and study under the direct guidance of several Tibetan masters, receiving transmissions, initiations, advice and teachings, he has also done several solitary meditation retreats, having lived in dedicated retreat for several years.
Ajanatha has received the complete Yogic ordination of the Vajrayana tradition of Buddhism (Nagkpa).
Having a very long background in Chod, Dzogchen Atiyoga and Buddhism in general, for many years in particular he also received the teachings and studied in the traditional way the classic texts of Buddhist philosophy, from Sutra to Tantra and Dzogchen, in particular having spent six years of formal study of classical Buddhist philosophy and the Dzogchen teachings. Ajanatha received and underwent a very thorough and traditional training under the guidance of various Masters.
After receiving several requests and encouragement to teach, Ajanatha founded the Udyana Dharma practice and study group with the aim of offering transmission, guidance and sharing this path and teachings with those genuinely interested in this path.
For the past few years, Ajanatha resides permanently in a dedicated retreat location in the Portalegre mountain region of Portugal.
Ajanatha has followed and studied with various masters over the years, and has received transmission and teachings from various lineages and many masters from different schools, however the most important teachers have been Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, Ayang Rinpoche and Garchen Rinpoche. Also has received transmissions, initiations and teachings, from H.H. The Dalai Lama, H.E. Sakya Trizin, H.E. Schechen Rabjam, Patrul Rinpoche, Nagkpa Dorje, Togden Acho, Khamtrul Rinpoche, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, and many other important teachers.
